It worked well in my electric waffle iron and the kitchen smelled wonderful. I compared the taste of the waffles to the taste of waffles made from a boxed mix and they were almost identicle. These are so fluffy with a light crust on the outside. Will definately make them again. Light and crisp with just a hint of cinnamon.
I make these and then drizzle in hot butter and powdered sugar. I have used a lot of mixes and recipes for waffles but this is the best. My husband loved them. In a large bowl whisk together the egg yolks 1 4 cup of the warm milk and the melted butter. Ingredients 2 large egg yolks egg yolks 1 teaspoon vanilla extract 1 cup buttermilk cup butter melted 1 cup all purpose flour 1 teaspoons baking powder teaspoon baking soda tablespoon white sugar teaspoon salt 2 large egg whites egg whites 1 pinch ground cinnamon.
Stir in the yeast mixture sugar salt and vanilla. They are light and fluffy and melt in your mouth. They are crispy and yummy and i like that they don t use a lot of sugar in the recipie but still taste great. I always use 1 tsp of cinnamon. I did substitute 2 milk in place of the buttermilk.
